Working and rest time regulations for selected service enterprises are made more flexible

The Federal Council is relaxing the working and rest time provisions for selected companies. The new article will allow employees in information and communication technology companies to work an extended period of 17 hours instead of 14 hours in certain situations. In addition, the daily rest period can be reduced or interrupted from 11 to 9 hours several times a week.

On the other hand, service companies in the areas of auditing, fiduciary services and tax consultancy are given the option of employing employees who have a supervisor function or work as a technical specialist according to a certain annual working time model. However, this must be agreed individually with each employee.

The amendment to the ordinance will come into force on 1 July 2023.
