Withholding tax: When is it worth switching to the standard procedure?

Withholding tax: When is it worth switching to the standard procedure?

Those liable for withholding tax may, under certain conditions, voluntarily switch to the standard tax procedure.

A switch may be advisable if individual deductions can be claimed or if your personal or financial circumstances have changed – for example, due to marriage, children, property or assets. In such cases, the standard procedure allows for a more accurate tax assessment.

Important to note:
The switch is binding. Once you are in the standard procedure, you generally remain there. Furthermore, not every situation benefits from a switch.
