Why it makes sense to increase the renewal fund now

Many buildings in Switzerland are over 40 years old and will soon require renovation or energy-efficiency improvements. This also applies to numerous flats under condominium ownership. It may therefore be worthwhile for owners to increase their contributions to the renovation fund, particularly whilst they still have a notional rental value.
Contributions to the renovation fund are generally tax-deductible, provided they are used for maintenance work that preserves the property’s value. The work itself can be carried out at a later date.
