Public holidays count towards deadline calculation

A married couple from the canton of Thurgau submitted an appeal against a tax decision one day too late. They thought that the deadline did not start until after the holidays, but the Federal Supreme Court clarified that it does not matter whether the first day falls on a weekend or a public holiday.
