New data protection law as of 1 September 2023

The completely revised data protection act and the corresponding provisions in the ordinances will ensure better protection of personal data in the future. In particular, data protection is adapted to technological developments, self-determination over personal data is strengthened and transparency in the procurement of personal data is increased. Companies are well advised to start implementing the new requirements, as possible sanctions for violations will also be tightened under the new law.
