Lawyer’s mistake costs company the case

A company failed to pay the required advance on costs on time. It justified this by saying that its former lawyer had forwarded the relevant notification too late. However, the Federal Supreme Court ruled that the company itself was responsible for the lawyer’s mistake. The deadline was therefore not reinstated and the appeal was dismissed.
