Deadlines must also be observed from abroad
Various plaintiffs appeared before the Federal Supreme Court who had not complied with a 10-day deadline for lodging an appeal. They argued that they were domiciled in Spain and Mexico and that the geographical distance made it impossible to have the appeal signed by all of them within the appeal period.
The court did not accept this, as the applicants could easily have had their appeal signed by an authorised representative and submitted within the deadline if they had acted conscientiously. (Source: BGE 2F_9/2024 of 21.5.2024)
