2025 Year-End Letter

2025 Year-End Letter

Is the glass half full or half empty? Optimists see the glass as half full, while pessimists often see it as half empty. Despite Switzerland’s high level of prosperity, many people feel that the glass is half empty. When we hear the reactions of the increasingly extreme left-wing forces, especially after the inheritance tax vote, one might think we were living in a socially unjust state. Yet Switzerland has already done a lot of things right in many areas. Wealth tax and the AHV are key instruments of social equality and work perfectly. In this respect, our welfare state is far more advanced than in many other countries.

We have a strong, reliable state – presumably another reason why we are doing well overall. However, there is no need for an excess of new laws and regulations. If we manage to keep the state as lean as possible and organise it efficiently, everyone can benefit. In this context, it would be helpful to look more often at the ‘glass half full’.

The labour market in Switzerland has become increasingly difficult in almost all sectors in recent years. This not only leads to higher labour costs, but also to increased use of automation through AI and IT. We invest considerable sums in recruiting and promoting talented specialists and in further developing our IT infrastructure. This is the only way we can continue to offer you excellent service in the future. At the same time, we are convinced that we must also invest in the development of our profession. We not only offer apprenticeships and promote vocational training, but also enable students to gain practical experience with us.

In addition to providing our employees with ongoing training, we want to be an attractive employer with a modern infrastructure. That is why our managers were able to take part in a leadership workshop this year and three major IT projects were successfully implemented. We are now working with redIT, a leading IT service provider, in the area of hardware and infrastructure, which ensures that our data is secure and reliably available at all times. We have also introduced the M-Files document management system, which enables us to operate largely paperless. M-Files also gives our customers access to certain documents via their own customer portal. Finally, on 1 October 2025, we switched our service recording and invoicing system to Abacus. As with any IT project, not everything went smoothly from the start, but thanks to the commitment of all project staff, we were able to successfully implement these three initiatives.

We are delighted that BILANZ has once again named us one of Switzerland’s 100 best tax experts and trustees for the sixth year in a row. We would like to express our sincere thanks to our clients for their trust and to our employees for their tireless dedication, which contributes significantly to the success of our company.

In 2025, we further strengthened our team with proven experts so that we can continue to offer you the best possible service in the future.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your long-standing and always valued cooperation. The trusting partnerships with our customers, partner companies, banks and authorities are of great importance to us. This year, we are supporting the LZ-Weihnachtsaktion ‘30 years’ with a donation instead of Christmas cards and gifts in order to do something good together.

On behalf of the entire team, we wish you and your loved ones a merry and peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year. We look forward to continuing our collaboration in 2026 and hope that your glass will remain half full in the coming year.
